52 weeks of stash busting starts here

12 February 2012.  Today is the day, after dithering about for weeks, I am starting a 52 week "no buying clothes" challenge.  My fabric stash is now so big I really could start a shop.   I seem to have an odd displacement activity where buying the fabric cancels out the desire to actually make any of it into clothes.  Once fabric enters the stash all is lost I just look at it lovingly and buy more when I want to make something...........

This blog would be better if I could find my camera and post the 25 + meters of fabric bought at Walthamstow market this morning which has pushed me into this challenge.  However losing the camera is not to become an excuse for not posting, so the challenge starts today.

  1. Too funny. I feel the same way. I hope blogging works for you as well as it works for me. I have sewn more since I started my blog in January than I did all of last year. Looking forward to seeing what you sew first.

  2. Hi Heather - your stash seems to be as big as mine - I have at least 172 pieces that I have to work my way through. I am also going to sew my own wardrobe this year - have you heard of the challenge starting April 1? sewyourownwardrobeforayearchallenge.blogspot.com, or visit my blog (do anyway) and access via the button on my site. I also have found blogging is helping my sewing life.
